Opatija
Opatija town has one of the oldest tourist traditions on the north eastern coast of the Adriatic. It was during the
Austro-Hungarian Empire that this climatic resort became known as the holiday retreat for the very elite. Located at the foot of Mt Učka, amongst lush foliage and beautiful green lavish parks, ending in a magnificent beach side promenade known as the "Lungomare", it is not surprising that Opatija with an array of stunning pastel facades earned its reputation as the Nice of the Adriatic. Today Opatija continues to be a popular place to visit. |
